Isaiah 44:3-5

Good News Translation

³“I will give water to the thirsty land
    and make streams flow on the dry ground.
I will pour out my spirit on your children
    and my blessing on your descendants.
⁴They will thrive like well-watered grass,
    like willows by streams of running water.

⁵“One by one, people will say, ‘I am the Lord's.’
They will come to join the people of Israel.
They each will mark the name of the Lord on their arms
and call themselves one of God's people.”

⁴They will spring up like grass^(F) in a meadow,
    like poplar trees^(G) by flowing streams.^(H)
⁵Some will say, ‘I belong^(I) to the Lord’;
    others will call themselves by the name of Jacob;
still others will write on their hand,^(J) ‘The Lord’s,’^(K)
    and will take the name Israel.

³For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

⁴And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

⁵One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
