2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, who call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob My servant’s sake, and Israel Mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name; I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known Me.

2 I will go before you(A)
and will level(B) the mountains[a];
I will break down gates(C) of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.(D)
3 I will give you hidden treasures,(E)
riches stored in secret places,(F)
so that you may know(G) that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.(H)
4 For the sake of Jacob my servant,(I)
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge(J) me.
