⁵ I am the Lord, and there is no other;
    besides me there is no god.
    I arm you, though you do not know me,^(A)

²¹ Declare and present your case;
    take counsel together!^[a]
Who told this long ago?
    Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the Lord?
    There is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
    there is no one besides me.^(A)

²³ Kings shall be your foster fathers
    and their queens your nursing mothers.
With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you
    and lick the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;
    those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.^(A)

¹⁷ So you shall know that I, the Lord your God,
    dwell in Zion, my holy mountain.
And Jerusalem shall be holy,
    and strangers shall never again pass through it.^(A)

²¹ I will avenge their blood, and I will not clear the guilty,^[a]
    for the Lord dwells in Zion.^(A)
