⁵^(A)Sit in silence, and go into darkness,
O daughter of ^(B)the Chaldeans;
for you shall no more be called
^(C)the mistress of kingdoms.

⁵“Sit in silence,^(A) go into darkness,^(B)
queen city of the Babylonians;^(C)
no more will you be called
queen^(D) of kingdoms.^(E)

¹⁹And Babylon, ^(A)the glory of kingdoms,
the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans,
will be ^(B)like Sodom and Gomorrah
when God overthrew them.

¹⁹Babylon,^(A) the jewel of kingdoms,^(B)
the pride and glory^(C) of the Babylonians,^[a]
will be overthrown^(D) by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.^(E)
