22 Woe unto them that are [a]mighty to drink wine, and unto them that are strong to pour in strong drink:
23 Which justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him.
24 Therefore as the flame of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed of the flame: so their [b]root shall be a rottenness, and their bud shall rise up like dust, because they have cast off the Law of the Lord of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy one of Israel.

22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine(A)
and champions at mixing drinks,(B)
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,(C)
but deny justice(D) to the innocent.(E)
24 Therefore, as tongues of fire(F) lick up straw(G)
and as dry grass sinks down in the flames,
so their roots will decay(H)
and their flowers blow away like dust;(I)
for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty
and spurned the word(J) of the Holy One(K) of Israel.
