22 (A)Woe to those who are mighty men in drinking wine
And valiant men in mixing strong drink,
23 (B)Who [a]declare the wicked righteous for a bribe,
And (C)remove the [b]righteous standing of the ones who are [c]righteous!

24 Therefore, (D)as a tongue of fire consumes stubble
And dry grass collapses into the flame,
So their (E)root will become (F)like rot and their blossom [d]blow away as dust;
For they have (G)rejected the law of Yahweh of hosts
And the word of the Holy One of Israel they have spurned.

    and champions at mixing drinks,(B)
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,(C)
    but deny justice(D) to the innocent.(E)
24 Therefore, as tongues of fire(F) lick up straw(G)
    and as dry grass sinks down in the flames,
so their roots will decay(H)
    and their flowers blow away like dust;(I)
for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty
    and spurned the word(J) of the Holy One(K) of Israel.
