Isaiah 5:6-8
New American Standard Bible
6 I will (A)lay it waste;
It will not be pruned nor hoed,
But briars and thorns will come up.
I will also command the clouds not to (B)rain on it.”
7 For the (C)vineyard of the Lord of armies is the house of Israel,
And the people of Judah are His delightful plant.
So He waited for justice, but behold, there was (D)bloodshed;
For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
Woes for the Wicked
8 Woe to those who (E)attach house to house and join field to field,
Until there is no more room,
And you alone are a landowner in the midst of the land!
Isaiah 5:6-8
New International Version
6 I will make it a wasteland,(A)
neither pruned nor cultivated,
and briers and thorns(B) will grow there.
I will command the clouds
not to rain(C) on it.”
7 The vineyard(D) of the Lord Almighty
is the nation of Israel,
and the people of Judah
are the vines he delighted in.
And he looked for justice,(E) but saw bloodshed;
for righteousness,(F) but heard cries of distress.(G)
