⁷ For the ^(A)vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel
And the men of Judah His delightful plant.
Thus He hoped for justice, but behold, ^(B)bloodshed;
For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.

³ “They ^(A)bend their tongue like their bow;
Lies and unfaithfulness prevail in the land,
For they ^(B)go onward from evil to evil,
And they ^(C)do not know Me,” declares Yahweh.
⁴ “Let everyone ^(D)beware of his neighbor,
And ^(E)do not trust any brother,
Because every ^(F)brother ^[a]surely supplants,
And every neighbor ^(G)goes about as a slanderer.
