Isaiah 51:17-20
New American Standard Bible 1995
17 (A)Rouse yourself! Rouse yourself! Arise, O Jerusalem,
You who have (B)drunk from the Lord’s hand the cup of His anger;
The [a]chalice of reeling you have [b]drained to the dregs.
18 There is (C)none to guide her among all the sons she has borne,
Nor is there one to take her by the hand among all the sons she has reared.
19 These two things have befallen you;
Who will mourn for you?
The (D)devastation and destruction, famine and sword;
How shall I comfort you?
20 Your sons have fainted,
They (E)lie helpless at the head of every street,
Like an (F)antelope in a net,
Full of the wrath of the Lord,
The (G)rebuke of your God.

18 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “As My (A)anger and wrath have been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so My wrath will be poured out on you when you enter Egypt. And you will become a (B)curse, an object of horror, an imprecation and a reproach; and (C)you will see this place no more.”
