Isaiah 52:3-5
New Living Translation

3 For this is what the Lord says:
“When I sold you into exile,
    I received no payment.
Now I can redeem you
    without having to pay for you.”

4 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria. 5 What is this?” asks the Lord. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation.[a] My name is blasphemed all day long.[b]

3 For this is what the Lord says:

“You were sold for nothing,(A)
    and without money(B) you will be redeemed.(C)”

4 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“At first my people went down to Egypt(D) to live;
    lately, Assyria(E) has oppressed them.

5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the Lord.

“For my people have been taken away for nothing,
    and those who rule them mock,[a]”
declares the Lord.
“And all day long
    my name is constantly blasphemed.(F)
