7 He was oppressed(A) and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;(B)
he was led like a lamb(C) to the slaughter,(D)
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression[a] and judgment(E) he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;(F)
for the transgression(G) of my people he was punished.[b]
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,(H)
and with the rich(I) in his death,
though he had done no violence,(J)
nor was any deceit in his mouth.(K)

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted(C) and put to death,(D) and you will be hated by all nations because of me.(E) 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets(F) will appear and deceive many people.(G) 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(H) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom(I) will be preached in the whole world(J) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
