Isaiah 58:7-9
International Standard Version
7 Isn’t it to share your bread with the hungry,
and to bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked,
to cover him with clothing,[a]
and not to raise yourself up[b] from your own flesh and blood?”
God’s Reward
8 “Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will spring up quickly;
and your vindication will go before you,
and[c] the glory of the Lord will guard your back.
9 Then you’ll call,
and the Lord will answer;
you’ll cry for help,
and he’ll respond, ‘Here I am.’
“If you do away with the yoke among you,
and[d] pointing fingers and malicious talk;

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry(A)
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter(B)—
when you see the naked, to clothe(C) them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?(D)
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,(E)
and your healing(F) will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a](G) will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.(H)
9 Then you will call,(I) and the Lord will answer;(J)
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
