7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers, shall be [a]together (saith the Lord) which have burnt incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills; therefore will I measure their old work into their bosom.
8 Thus saith the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not, for a [b]blessing is in it, so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them whole.
9 But I will bring a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah that shall inherit my mountain; and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

- Isaiah 65:7 Shall be both punished together: and this declareth how the children are punished for their fathers’ faults, to wit, when the same faults or like are found in them.
- Isaiah 65:8 That is, it is profitable: meaning, that God will not destroy the faithful branches of his vineyard, when he destroyeth the rotten stocks, that is, the hypocrites.

7 both your sins(A) and the sins of your ancestors,”(B)
says the Lord.
“Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains
and defied me on the hills,(C)
I will measure into their laps
the full payment(D) for their former deeds.”
8 This is what the Lord says:
“As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes(E)
and people say, ‘Don’t destroy it,
there is still a blessing in it,’
so will I do in behalf of my servants;(F)
I will not destroy them all.
9 I will bring forth descendants(G) from Jacob,
and from Judah those who will possess(H) my mountains;
my chosen(I) people will inherit them,
and there will my servants live.(J)
