12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test. 13 Then Isaiah[a] said: ‘Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary mortals, that you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman[b] is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.[c]

13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David!(B) Is it not enough(C) to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience(D) of my God(E) also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[a] a sign:(F) The virgin[b](G) will conceive and give birth to a son,(H) and[c] will call him Immanuel.[d](I)
