¹²Do not call everything an alliance
these people say is an alliance.^(A)
Do not fear what they fear;^(B)
do not be terrified.

¹²“Do not call conspiracy^(A)
everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,^(B)
and do not dread it.^(C)

⁹All the people—
Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria^(A)—will know it.
They will say with pride and arrogance:

⁹All the people will know it—
Ephraim^(A) and the inhabitants of Samaria^(B)—
who say with pride
and arrogance^(C) of heart,
