Isaiah 9:20-21
Common English Bible
20 they consumed on the right, but remained hungry;
devoured on the left, and weren’t satisfied.
They devoured the flesh of their own children.[a]
21 Manasseh devoured Ephraim and Ephraim Manasseh;
together they turned against Judah.
Even then God’s anger didn’t turn away;
God’s hand was still extended.

20 On the right they will devour,
but still be hungry;(A)
on the left they will eat,(B)
but not be satisfied.
Each will feed on the flesh of their own offspring[a]:
21 Manasseh will feed on Ephraim, and Ephraim on Manasseh;(C)
together they will turn against Judah.(D)
Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised.(E)
