Judgment on Assyria

²⁴ The Lord of armies has sworn, saying, “Certainly, ^(A)just as I have intended, so it has happened, and just as I have planned, so it will stand, ²⁵ to ^(B)break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his ^(C)yoke will be removed from them, and his burden removed from their shoulders.

¹⁷ “Now as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Say to every ^[a]kind of ^(A)bird and to every ^(B)animal of the field: “Assemble and come, gather from every direction to My sacrifice, which I am going to ^(C)sacrifice for you as a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel; and you will eat flesh and drink blood. ¹⁸ You will ^(D)eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the leaders of the earth, as though they were ^(E)rams, lambs, goats, and ^(F)bulls, all of them fattened livestock of ^(G)Bashan. ¹⁹ So you will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, from My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. ²⁰ You will eat your fill at My table with ^(H)horses and charioteers, with warriors and all the men of war,” declares the Lord God.
