Judgment on Assyria

24 The Lord of armies has sworn, saying, “Certainly, (A)just as I have intended, so it has happened, and just as I have planned, so it will stand, 25 to (B)break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his (C)yoke will be removed from them, and his burden removed from their shoulders.

17 “Now as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Say to every [a]kind of (A)bird and to every (B)animal of the field: “Assemble and come, gather from every direction to My sacrifice, which I am going to (C)sacrifice for you as a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel; and you will eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You will (D)eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the leaders of the earth, as though they were (E)rams, lambs, goats, and (F)bulls, all of them fattened livestock of (G)Bashan. 19 So you will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, from My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20 You will eat your fill at My table with (H)horses and charioteers, with warriors and all the men of war,” declares the Lord God.
