⁴ so the king of Assyria will lead the captives of Egypt^(A) and the exiles of Cush, young and old alike, naked and barefoot, with bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame.

²⁶ I will hand them over to those who want to take their lives^(A)—to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. But after this,^(B) it will be inhabited again as in ancient times.”

This is the Lord’s declaration.

¹⁹ Therefore this is what the Lord God says: I am going to give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,^(A) who will carry off its wealth, seizing its spoil and taking its plunder. This will be his army’s compensation.
