27 On that day ^(A)the Lord will punish ^[a](B)Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
With His fierce and great and mighty sword,
Even ^[b]Leviathan the twisted serpent;
And ^(C)He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.

⁵ For ^(A)My sword has drunk its fill in heaven;
Behold it shall descend for judgment upon ^(B)Edom,
And upon the people whom I have ^(C)designated for destruction.
⁶ The sword of the Lord is filled with blood,
It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats,
With the fat of the kidneys of rams.
For the Lord has a sacrifice in ^(D)Bozrah,
And a great slaughter in the land of ^(E)Edom.

¹⁶ For the Lord will execute judgment by ^(A)fire
And by His ^(B)sword on ^[a]humanity,
And those put to death by the Lord will be many.
