⁶ Behold, you have relied on the ^(A)staff of this broken reed, on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his ^[a]hand and pierce it. ^(B)So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.

⁵ Meanwhile, ^(A)Pharaoh’s army had set out from Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who had been besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them, they ^(B)withdrew from Jerusalem.
