6 ^(A)Woe to those who are carefree in Zion,
And to those who feel secure on the mountain of Samaria,
The ^(B)dignitaries of the foremost of nations,
To whom the house of Israel comes.

¹⁵ This is the ^(A)presumptuous city
That ^(B)dwells securely,
Who says in her heart,
“^(C)I am, and there is no one besides me.”
How she has become a ^(D)desolation,
A resting place for animals!
^(E)Everyone who passes by her will ^[a]hiss
And wave his hand in contempt.
