Isaiah 56:7
New International Version
2 Kings 17:26-28
New International Version
26 It was reported to the king of Assyria: “The people you deported and resettled in the towns of Samaria do not know what the god of that country requires. He has sent lions among them, which are killing them off, because the people do not know what he requires.”
27 Then the king of Assyria gave this order: “Have one of the priests you took captive from Samaria go back to live there and teach the people what the god of the land requires.” 28 So one of the priests who had been exiled from Samaria came to live in Bethel and taught them how to worship the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:6-14
New International Version
6 There will be a day when watchmen(A) cry out
on the hills of Ephraim,
‘Come, let us go up to Zion,
to the Lord our God.’”(B)
7 This is what the Lord says:
“Sing(C) with joy for Jacob;
shout for the foremost(D) of the nations.
Make your praises heard, and say,
‘Lord, save(E) your people,
the remnant(F) of Israel.’
8 See, I will bring them from the land of the north(G)
and gather(H) them from the ends of the earth.
Among them will be the blind(I) and the lame,(J)
expectant mothers and women in labor;
a great throng will return.
9 They will come with weeping;(K)
they will pray as I bring them back.
I will lead(L) them beside streams of water(M)
on a level(N) path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel’s father,(O)
and Ephraim is my firstborn son.
10 “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations;
proclaim it in distant coastlands:(P)
‘He who scattered(Q) Israel will gather(R) them
and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’(S)
11 For the Lord will deliver Jacob
and redeem(T) them from the hand of those stronger(U) than they.
12 They will come and shout for joy(V) on the heights(W) of Zion;
they will rejoice in the bounty(X) of the Lord—
the grain, the new wine and the olive oil,(Y)
the young of the flocks(Z) and herds.
They will be like a well-watered garden,(AA)
and they will sorrow(AB) no more.
13 Then young women will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning(AC) into gladness;
I will give them comfort(AD) and joy(AE) instead of sorrow.
14 I will satisfy(AF) the priests(AG) with abundance,
and my people will be filled with my bounty,(AH)”
declares the Lord.
Zechariah 8:20-23
New International Version
20 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, 21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat(A) the Lord and seek(B) the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.’ 22 And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.”(C)
23 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’”(D)
