⁶ “Inasmuch as these people have ^(A)rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah
And rejoice in ^(B)Rezin and the son of Remaliah;
⁷ Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the ^(C)strong and abundant waters of the ^(D)Euphrates River,
That is, the ^(E)king of Assyria and all his glory;
And it will ^(F)rise over all its channels and go over all its banks.

²⁸ His ^(A)breath is like an overflowing river,
Which ^(B)reaches to the neck,
To ^(C)shake the nations back and forth in a ^[a]sieve,
And to put in the jaws of the peoples ^(D)the bridle which leads astray.

⁸ But with an ^(A)overflowing flood
He will make a complete end of ^[a]its site,
And will pursue His enemies into ^(B)darkness.
