Isaiah 8:7-10

New American Standard Bible

⁷ Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the ^(A)strong and abundant waters of the ^(B)Euphrates River,
That is, the ^(C)king of Assyria and all his glory;
And it will ^(D)rise over all its channels and go over all its banks.
⁸ Then ^(E)it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass through,
It will ^(F)reach as far as the neck;
And the spread of its wings will ^[a]fill the expanse of ^[b]your land, ^(G)Immanuel.

⁹ “^(H)Be broken, you peoples, and be ^[c](I)shattered;
And listen, all remote places of the earth.
^[d]Get ready, yet be ^[e]shattered;
^[f]Get ready, yet be ^[g]shattered.
^10 (J)Devise a plan, but it will fail;
State a ^[h]proposal, but ^(K)it will not stand,
For ^[i](L)God is with us.”
