4 Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are crying aloud, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.(A) 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure; you have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter.(B) 6 You have condemned; you have murdered the righteous one;(C) he offers you no resistance.[a]

4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers(A) who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries(B) of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.(C) 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves(D) in the day of slaughter.[a](E) 6 You have condemned and murdered(F) the innocent one,(G) who was not opposing you.

5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
