6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, and drew in their wind like [a]dragons: their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
7 [b]O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, deal with us according to thy Name: for our rebellions are many, we sinned against thee.
8 O thou hope of Israel, the savior thereof in the time of trouble, why art thou as a [c]stranger in the land, as one that passeth by, to tarry for a night?

6 Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights(A)
and pant like jackals;
their eyes fail

8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
