Jeremiah 14:6-8
International Children’s Bible
6 Wild donkeys stand on the bare hills.
They sniff the wind like wild dogs.
But their eyes are dull because
there is no food.”
7 We know that we suffer because of our sins.
Lord, do something to help us for the good of your name.
We have left you many times.
We have sinned against you.
8 God, you are the Hope of Israel.
You have saved Israel in times of trouble.
But now you are like a stranger in the land.
You are like a traveler who only stays one night.
Jeremiah 14:6-8
New International Version
6 Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights(A)
and pant like jackals;
their eyes fail
for lack of food.”(B)
7 Although our sins testify(C) against us,
do something, Lord, for the sake of your name.(D)
For we have often rebelled;(E)
we have sinned(F) against you.
8 You who are the hope(G) of Israel,
its Savior(H) in times of distress,(I)
why are you like a stranger in the land,
like a traveler who stays only a night?
