Jeremiah 16:19-21

New American Standard Bible

¹⁹Lord, my ^(A)strength and my stronghold,
And my ^(B)refuge in the day of distress,
To You the ^(C)nations will come
From the ends of the earth and say,
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but ^(D)falsehood,
Futility, and ^[a]^(E)things of no benefit.”
²⁰Can a person make gods for himself?
But they are ^(F)not gods!

²¹“Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—
This time I will ^(G)make them know
My ^[b]power and My might;
And they will ^(H)know that My name is the Lord.”

    worthless idols^(D) that did them no good.^(E)
²⁰Do people make their own gods?
    Yes, but they are not gods!”^(F)
