7 No one shall break bread for the mourner, to comfort him for the dead; nor shall any one give him the cup of consolation to drink for his father or his mother. 8 You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and drink. 9 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will make to cease from this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

7 No one will offer food(A) to comfort those who mourn(B) for the dead—not even for a father or a mother—nor will anyone give them a drink to console(C) them.
8 “And do not enter a house where there is feasting and sit down to eat and drink.(D) 9 For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds(E) of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride(F) and bridegroom in this place.(G)
