10 I, the Lord, (A)search the heart,

(B)To give to each person according to his ways,
According to the [b]results of his deeds.
11 As a partridge that hatches eggs which it has not laid,
So is a person who (C)makes a fortune, but unjustly;
In the middle of his days it will abandon him,
And in [c]the end he will be a (D)fool.”

12 (E)A glorious throne on high from the beginning
Is the place of our sanctuary.

When their lives are half gone, their riches will desert them,
    and in the end they will prove to be fools.(E)

    is the place of our sanctuary.
