Jeremiah 18:16-18
New King James Version
16 To make their land (A)desolate and a perpetual (B)hissing;
Everyone who passes by it will be astonished
And shake his head.
17 (C)I will scatter them (D)as with an east wind before the enemy;
(E)I will [a]show them the back and not the face
In the day of their calamity.”

18 Then they said, (F)“Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah; (G)for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.”

18 They said, “Come, let’s make plans(G) against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest(H) will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise,(I) nor the word from the prophets.(J) So come, let’s attack him with our tongues(K) and pay no attention to anything he says.”
