6 therefore the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when this place shall no more be called Topheth or the valley of the son of Hinnom but the valley of Slaughter.(A) 7 And in this place I will make void the plans of Judah and Jerusalem and will make them fall by the sword before their enemies and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the air and to the wild animals of the earth.(B) 8 And I will make this city a horror, a thing to be hissed at; everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters.(C)

6 So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call this place Topheth(A) or the Valley of Ben Hinnom,(B) but the Valley of Slaughter.(C)
7 “‘In this place I will ruin[a] the plans(D) of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies,(E) at the hands of those who want to kill them, and I will give their carcasses(F) as food(G) to the birds and the wild animals. 8 I will devastate this city and make it an object of horror and scorn;(H) all who pass by will be appalled(I) and will scoff because of all its wounds.(J)
