6 I will watch over them for their own good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down. I will plant them and not uproot them. 7 I will give them the desire to know that I am Yahweh. They will be my people, and I will be their Elohim, because they will wholeheartedly come back to me.
8 “But this is what the Lord says about the bad figs that are so bad that they can’t be eaten. Yahweh says, ‘Like these bad figs, I will abandon King Zedekiah of Judah, his princes, the remaining few in Jerusalem who stayed behind in this land, and those who are living in Egypt.

6 My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back(A) to this land. I will build(B) them up and not tear them down; I will plant(C) them and not uproot them. 7 I will give them a heart to know(D) me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people,(E) and I will be their God, for they will return(F) to me with all their heart.(G)
8 “‘But like the bad(H) figs, which are so bad they cannot be eaten,’ says the Lord, ‘so will I deal with Zedekiah(I) king of Judah, his officials(J) and the survivors(K) from Jerusalem, whether they remain in this land or live in Egypt.(L)
