27 So why haven’t you rebuked Yirmeyahu of ‘Anatot, who makes himself out to be a prophet for you? 28 He even sends word to us in Bavel saying that the exile will last a long time; so build houses and live in them, plant gardens and eat what they produce.” 29 Tz’fanyah the cohen read this letter to Yirmeyahu the prophet, and afterwards
Jeremiah 29:27-29
New International Version
27 So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you? 28 He has sent this message(A) to us in Babylon: It will be a long time.(B) Therefore build(C) houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.’”
29 Zephaniah(D) the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet.
