Yet you had a (B)harlot’s forehead;
You refused to feel dishonor.
Have you not just now called to Me,

(F)Will He be angry forever?
Will He keep it to the end?’
Behold, you have spoken
And have done evil things,
And you have [d]had your way.”

Faithless Israel Called to Repentance

Then Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She (G)went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and she was a harlot there. (H)I said, ‘After she has done all these things, she will return to Me’; but she did not return, and her (I)treacherous sister Judah saw it. And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and (J)given her a certificate of divorce, yet her (K)treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also. So it was, because of the lightness of her harlotry, that she (L)polluted the land and committed adultery with (M)stones and trees. 10 Yet in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in (N)lying,” declares Yahweh.

13 “Moreover, among the prophets of Samaria I saw an (A)offensive thing:

14 Also among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen an (D)appalling thing:
The committing of (E)adultery and walking in lying;

30 Indeed the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only (A)evil in My sight from their youth; for the sons of Israel have been only (B)provoking Me to anger by the work of their hands,” declares Yahweh. 31 “Indeed this city has been to Me a (C)provocation of My anger and My wrath from the day that they built it, even to this day, so that it should be (D)removed from before My face 32 because of all the evil of the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah which they have done to provoke Me to anger—they, their (E)kings, their princes, their priests, their prophets, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
