Jeremiah 31:9-11
Jubilee Bible 2000

9 They shall come with weeping, but with mercies I will cause them to return; I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, in which they shall not stumble; for I shall be a father to Israel, and Ephraim shall be my firstborn.

10 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, O ye Gentiles, and cause it to be known in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.

11 For the LORD has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

New International Version

9 They will come with weeping;(A)
    they will pray as I bring them back.
I will lead(B) them beside streams of water(C)
    on a level(D) path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel’s father,(E)
    and Ephraim is my firstborn son.

10 “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations;
    proclaim it in distant coastlands:(F)
‘He who scattered(G) Israel will gather(H) them
    and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’(I)
11 For the Lord will deliver Jacob
    and redeem(J) them from the hand of those stronger(K) than they.
