4 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says concerning the houses of this city and the palaces of Judah’s kings, the ones torn down for defense against the siege ramps and the sword:(A) 5 The people coming to fight the Chaldeans will fill the houses with the corpses of their own men that I strike down in My wrath and rage. I have hidden My face(B) from this city because of all their evil. 6 Yet I will certainly bring health(C) and healing to it and will indeed heal them. I will let them experience the abundance[a] of peace and truth.(D)

4 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the houses in this city and the royal palaces of Judah that have been torn down to be used against the siege(A) ramps(B) and the sword 5 in the fight with the Babylonians[a]: ‘They will be filled with the dead bodies of the people I will slay in my anger and wrath.(C) I will hide my face(D) from this city because of all its wickedness.
6 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal(E) my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace(F) and security.
