20 But Jeremiah said, “They will not deliver you. Please obey the voice of the Lord which I speak to you, so it will be well with you and your soul will live. 21 But if you refuse to surrender, this is the word that the Lord has shown me: 22 Then all the women who are left in the house of the king of Judah will be brought out to the officers of the king of Babylon; and those women shall say:

‘Your friends have misled
    and prevailed against you;
while your feet were sunk in the mud,
    they turned back.’

Then it will go well(B) with you, and your life(C) will be spared. 21 But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me: 22 All the women(D) left in the palace of the king of Judah will be brought out to the officials of the king of Babylon. Those women will say to you:

“‘They misled you and overcame you—
    those trusted friends(E) of yours.
Your feet are sunk in the mud;(F)
    your friends have deserted you.’
