13 So Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard,[a] sent word, along with[b] Nebushazban the chief officer, and Nergal-sharezer the high official, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon. 14 And they sent and took Jeremiah from the courtyard of the guard and gave him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him to the house, so he stayed in the midst of the people.

13 So Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard, Nebushazban a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officers(A) of the king of Babylon 14 sent and had Jeremiah taken out of the courtyard of the guard.(B) They turned him over to Gedaliah(C) son of Ahikam,(D) the son of Shaphan,(E) to take him back to his home. So he remained among his own people.(F)

15 While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him:
