Then came the word of the Lord to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying, “Take some large stones in your hands and hide them in the mortar in the brickwork [of the terrace] which is at the entrance of Pharaoh’s [a]house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of some of the men of Judah; 10 and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Behold, I am going to send and get [b]Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and I am going to set his throne over these stones that I have hidden; and his [majestic, royal] canopy will be spread over them.(A)

In Tahpanhes(A) the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “While the Jews are watching, take some large stones(B) with you and bury them in clay in the brick(C) pavement at the entrance to Pharaoh’s palace(D) in Tahpanhes. 10 Then say to them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will send for my servant(E) Nebuchadnezzar(F) king of Babylon, and I will set his throne(G) over these stones I have buried here; he will spread his royal canopy(H) above them.
