3 because of the[a] wickedness that they did, provoking me to anger by continuing to offer sacrifices and worship other gods that neither they nor you nor your ancestors had known. 4 Yet I sent all my servants the prophets to you again and again,[b] saying, “Don’t do this repulsive thing that I hate.” 5 ‘But they didn’t listen or pay attention[c] by turning from their wickedness and not offering sacrifices to other gods.

3 because of the evil(A) they have done. They aroused my anger(B) by burning incense(C) to and worshiping other gods(D) that neither they nor you nor your ancestors(E) ever knew. 4 Again and again(F) I sent my servants the prophets,(G) who said, ‘Do not do this detestable(H) thing that I hate!’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention;(I) they did not turn from their wickedness(J) or stop burning incense(K) to other gods.(L)
