9 (A)Advance, O horses,
and rage, O chariots!
Let the warriors go out:
men of Cush and (B)Put who handle the shield,
(C)men of Lud, skilled in handling the bow.
10 (D)That day is the day of the Lord God of hosts,
(E)a day of vengeance,
(F)to avenge himself on his foes.
(G)The sword shall devour and be sated
and drink its fill of their blood.
For the Lord God of hosts holds (H)a sacrifice
(I)in the north country (J)by the river Euphrates.
11 (K)Go up to Gilead, and take (L)balm,
O virgin daughter of Egypt!
In vain you have used many medicines;
(M)there is no healing for you.

9 Charge, you horses!
Drive furiously, you charioteers!(A)
March on, you warriors—men of Cush[a](B) and Put who carry shields,
men of Lydia(C) who draw the bow.
10 But that day(D) belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty—
a day of vengeance(E), for vengeance on his foes.
The sword will devour(F) till it is satisfied,
till it has quenched its thirst with blood.(G)
For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice(H)
in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.(I)
