⁹ Go up, you horses, and ^[a](A)drive madly, you chariots,
That the mighty men may go forth:
^[b]Ethiopia and ^[c](B)Put, who seize the shield,
And the ^[d](C)Lydians, who seize and bend the bow.
¹⁰ Indeed, ^(D)that day belongs to Lord Yahweh of hosts,
A day of ^(E)vengeance, so as to avenge Himself on His adversaries;
And the ^(F)sword will devour and be satiated
And ^[e]drink its fill of their blood;
For there will be a ^(G)sacrifice to Lord Yahweh of hosts
In the land of the north by the river Euphrates.
¹¹ Go ^(H)up to Gilead and obtain balm,
^(I)O virgin daughter of Egypt!
In vain have you multiplied ^[f]remedies;
There is ^(J)no healing for you.
