Go up, you horses, and [a](A)drive wildly, you chariots,
So that the warriors may [b]march forward:
[c]Cush and [d](B)Put, who handle the shield,
And the [e](C)Lydians, who handle and bend the bow.
10 For (D)that day belongs to the Lord [f]God of armies,
A day of (E)vengeance, so as to avenge Himself on His foes;
And the (F)sword will devour and be satisfied,
And [g]drink its fill of their blood;
For there will be a (G)slaughter for the Lord [h]God of armies,
In the land of the north at the river Euphrates.
11 Go (H)up to Gilead and obtain balm,
(I)Virgin daughter of Egypt!
You have used many [i]remedies in vain;
There is (J)no healing for you.
