28 Now you must all leave your towns.
Go and live among the rocks.
Live like doves that make their nests high up among the rocks.
29 We have heard that Moab's people are very proud.
They think that they are better than everyone else.
We know how much they boast.’

30 The Lord says,

‘I know about Moab's proud thoughts.
But their pride is false.
Whatever they do, it will be useless.

    you who live in Moab.
Be like a dove(A) that makes its nest
    at the mouth of a cave.(B)

29 “We have heard of Moab’s pride(C)
    how great is her arrogance!—
of her insolence, her pride, her conceit
    and the haughtiness(D) of her heart.
30 I know her insolence but it is futile,”
declares the Lord,
    “and her boasts(E) accomplish nothing.
