6 “(A)Flee, save your lives,
That you may be like a juniper in the wilderness.
7 “For because of your (B)trust in your own achievements and treasures,
Even you yourself will be captured;
And (C)Chemosh will go off into exile
Together with his priests and his princes.
8 “A destroyer will come to every city,
So that no city will escape;
The valley also will be ruined
And the (D)plateau will be destroyed,
As the Lord has said.

6 Flee!(A) Run for your lives;
become like a bush[a] in the desert.(B)
7 Since you trust in your deeds and riches,(C)
you too will be taken captive,
and Chemosh(D) will go into exile,(E)
together with his priests and officials.(F)
8 The destroyer(G) will come against every town,
and not a town will escape.
The valley will be ruined
and the plateau(H) destroyed,
because the Lord has spoken.
