³³ Hazor will become a jackals’ den,^(A)
a desolation forever.
No one will live there;
no human being will even stay in it as a temporary resident.^(B)

⁴⁰ Just as God demolished Sodom and Gomorrah
and their neighboring towns^(A)—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
so no one will live there;
no human being will even stay in it
as a temporary resident.^(B)

⁹ Therefore, as I live—
this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts,
the God of Israel—
Moab will be like Sodom
and the Ammonites like Gomorrah^(A)—
a place overgrown with weeds,
a salt pit, and a perpetual wasteland.
The remnant of My people will plunder them;
the remainder of My nation will dispossess them.
