Jeremiah 49:33-35

³³Only jackals^[a] will live
where your villages^[b] once stood.
I, the Lord, have spoken.

^34-35Not long after Zedekiah^[c] became king of Judah, the Lord told me to say:

People of Elam,^[d]
I, the Lord All-Powerful,
will kill the archers
who make your army strong.

³³“Hazor^(A) will become a haunt of jackals,^(B)
a desolate^(C) place forever.
No one will live there;
no people will dwell^(D) in it.”

³⁴This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam,^(E) early in the reign of Zedekiah^(F) king of Judah:

³⁵This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“See, I will break the bow^(G) of Elam,
the mainstay of their might.
