34 Against Elam.[a] This word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah in regard to Elam, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah. 35 Thus says the Lord of hosts:

Behold, I will break the bow of Elam,
    the mainstay of their might.
36 I will bring upon Elam the four winds
    from the four quarters of the heavens.
I will scatter them to all these winds,
    and there will not be a single nation
    to which the exiles of Elam will not go.

35 This is what the Lord Almighty says:
