17 “Israel is like (A)scattered sheep;
(B)The lions have driven him away.
First (C)the king of Assyria devoured him;
Now at last this (D)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

18 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:

“Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land,
As I have punished the king of (E)Assyria.
19 (F)But I will bring back Israel to his home,
And he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan;
His soul shall be satisfied on Mount Ephraim and Gilead.

    was the king(D) of Assyria;
the last to crush their bones(E)
    was Nebuchadnezzar(F) king(G) of Babylon.”

18 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:

“I will punish the king of Babylon and his land
    as I punished the king(H) of Assyria.(I)
19 But I will bring(J) Israel back to their own pasture,
    and they will graze on Carmel and Bashan;
their appetite will be satisfied(K)
    on the hills(L) of Ephraim and Gilead.(M)
